About Us
We have a rich history in scouting at Allegheny Evangelical Lutheran Church with our Cub Pack, Troop, and Venturing Crew programs. All three programs are well represented in scout membership, leadership, and program activity. Here is a little more about our programs:
- Cub Scouts meet each Tuesday from 6:30 – 7:30, with pack meetings the third Tuesday of the month. Each year the pack attends day camp at Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation, and has a year packed full of activities.
- Troop 241 meets the 1st, 3rd, and 5th (when we have one) Sundays of the month from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. We have found that we get the highest level of participation by not interfering with other programs that the boys are involved with. We have outings of some sort at least once per month, plus community service activities periodically throughout the year. In addition to attending Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation each year, we also typically attend an additional high adventure camping experience such as Florida Seabase, Philmont Scout Ranch,
- Crew 241 is a co-ed program ages 14 – 21 that many people do not know about. We have been in existence since 2005 and are an Outdoor High Adventure based crew. We are split about 50/50 with male/female membership. We meet the 1st Sunday of the month from 5:00 – 6:30pm. Outings are typically the third weekend of the month, and we have about 5 – 6 outings per year, plus a “Super Adventure”. Our super adventures have included a winter ascent of Mount Washington, Ice Climbing, Backpacking in California, Caving and Whitewater rafting in West Virginia, and many more.
